Our Approach
Responsibility Built Into How We Operate
Sustainability is not a communications exercise for us. It is a set of active commitments to reduce the environmental impact of how we run our business — the cleaning agents and equipment we buy, the vehicles we operate, how we use water, and how we handle waste. These choices cost more in the short term. We make them because we believe a professional company operating in New York City in 2026 has a responsibility to do so.
Our sustainability programme runs across four operational areas: energy efficiency, water conservation, waste management, and carbon footprint reduction. Each area has specific investments and measurable targets. We are not at the end of that journey, but we have been on it since 2018, and every year we move further along it.
We are currently in the process of transitioning our distribution fleet to electric vehicles. This is the most significant single step we can take towards reducing our operational carbon footprint, and it is actively underway. At the same time, we continuously evaluate our cleaning machinery against energy and water efficiency benchmarks, maintain tight inventory controls to reduce unnecessary deliveries, and train our technicians in responsible resource usage as part of their standard certification.
Our Four Pillars
Where We Focus Our Environmental Efforts
Energy Efficiency
We operate exclusively with energy-efficient and electric cleaning equipment. Electric vacuum cleaners, low-energy floor machines, and electric lifts are standard across our fleet. We also maintain tight client-side inventory control to minimise delivery frequency and the associated fuel consumption and packaging waste.
Water Conservation
We invest specifically in water-saving cleaning machinery — auto-scrubbers and extraction equipment with low water consumption ratings. Our technicians are trained in responsible water usage as part of their standard certification programme. Water consumption is tracked at facility level and reviewed for reduction opportunities.
Waste Management
Our waste management programme focuses on reduction, recycling, and responsible disposal of packaging and cleaning equipment at end of life. We also offer optional client-side waste minimisation training, helping the facilities we serve adopt better waste practices alongside our own operational improvements.
Carbon Footprint Reduction
We actively track our carbon footprint and work against measurable reduction targets. Our distribution fleet is in transition to electric vehicles. We continuously evaluate lower-emission cleaning machinery for deployment across our operations and explore renewable energy options for our facilities.
OUR JOURNEY
Seven Years of Sustainable Progress
We have been building our sustainability programme since 2018. Each milestone represents a real operational decision — an investment, a change in practice, or a certification that reflects how we run Advantage Cleaning.
2018
Eco-Friendly Products Exclusively
Committed to sourcing exclusively eco-friendly, EPA Safer Choice certified cleaning products across all operations.
We source from suppliers who share our commitment to ethical practices, fair treatment, and responsible sourcing. We engage with suppliers who are able to supply the environmentally friendly cleaning products and machinery we buy, and can provide sufficient documentation that products have been produced and delivered under ethical circumstances and with minimum environmental impact.
2019
Founded Care Club Non-Profit
Founded the Care Club, a non-profit dedicated to supporting homeless individuals in New York City. Community responsibility is part of how we define sustainability.
2021
Low-Energy, Low-Water Machinery
Transitioned exclusively to low-energy and low-water-consumption cleaning machinery across all operations — reducing both our energy and water footprint significantly.
2023
MBE Certification
Received Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) certification, formalising our commitment to diversity and responsible business practices.
2025
Next-Generation Machinery
Actively evaluating the transition to electric distribution vehicles and assessing next-generation cleaning machinery for lower emissions, energy consumption, and water usage across our fleet.
Let’s create a sustainable future together, for generations to come.
